Community Support St Marys Band Club has a long standing tradition and reputation of providing support to our local community. The Club actively participates in the Local Government Community Development Support Expenditure (CDSE) Scheme - a partnership between local registered clubs, the Department of Community Services, Penrith City Council and the community.
The following organisations and projects were selected for allocation of Category 1 funding for the 2011/2012 year as per The Penrith Local Government Area Community Support Expenditure (PLGACDSE) Committee's terms of reference.
Sunnyfield $4,959.00 To provide robust, stable outdoor benches and tables for our St Marys Day Program to provide safe and attractive environment for conducting outdoor group activities such as gardening and art as well as social interaction at break and lunch times. This outdoor furniture has been sourced to comply with the ergonomic and OH & S requirements of the people we support including stability, size and softened edges where available. St Marys Area Community Development Project Inc. $5, 000.00 To produce a full colour printed and bound edition of the St Marys Community Creative Writing Group’s Spring Anthology. This publication will bring together all of the work of the group members both past and present over the last 10 years. The funding will be used for IT training, a laptop, printing, binding, an official launch and promotion of the completed 10yr Anthology. Penrith Community Kitchen $10,000.00 To enable the organisation to continue to provide a healthy cooked meal for those disadvantaged people in the community on a daily basis and maintain the kitchen. This will go towards covering the cost of the food. St Marys Combined Pensioners Association $18,000.00 To hire bus and driver for tripe from February to early December 2011 for elderly and isolated members. Pool Committee allocation $8,711.00 Total $46,670.00
